    Another Burnishing question

    With pen blanks not giving tons of shavings is it OK to use shavings from a different type of wood? In other words If I am doing an oak pen can I mix the shavings with walnut or beach when burnishing?

    When going through the grits whilst sanding how hard do I need to be pressing the sandpaper into the blank? and do I need to keep the same pressure when sanding with the lathe running as what I do for when it's not running? (I hope that makes sense) I suppose the same question applies when...

    Is Friction Polish the same as burnishing cream? I have some friction polish and thought I had some burnishing cream but just can not find it anywhere and as such I am a little reluctant to purchase some more. Could I use the friction polish in-between layers of CA when finishing pens? Gary
