    Number 9

Number 9 came out this weekend, basically a clone of the one I made for my wife, number 8, but trying to take on board some of the feedback on the shape and form of the pen. This one is for a colleague's wife and my first commission, although I am doing it at cost, well, 78p labour to round it...

New One This Week - Cobalt Blue

Cobalt blue Italian acrylic, navy blue accents and nickel hardware. The clip for this one is fabricated from sheet, wire, and little accent spheres. (Heat the metal up hot enough and it balls all by itself!) This color is simply amazing - my iPhone photos certainly don't do it justice. :rolling:

    And a Fourth...

Gold Fountain Leveche. This is a DiamondCast blank that is purple and clear - I left the brass tubes showng - the gold color coming through the turned blank seemed to work nicely with the gold hardware.

    Tempest in Lavander Pearl

A Tempest dressed in Lavender pearl. I make a lot of these for many of my wife's friends. Purple is the associated color of the dementia groups of which my wife is an ambassador for. This particular blank is the best yet for color variation.

Since then I've expanded my available pigments and thought I'd breath a little more life into the color combo...

    Exemplar Color Grain

These are the new Exemplar kits from CSUSA. The blanks are Color Grain from PSI, and are similar to the old Dymondwood blanks. The blue one is called Winter Garden, and the red one is Night Fire. They turn and even smell like Dymondwood, but I think they're slightly lower quality. But still...

    Sketch pencil

This is one of Jim's mixed material blanks. Shame on me for forgetting to color the blank. It would have looked a lot better.
