    Classic Elite Pen Failures

    I've turned two of these Classic Elite Fountain pens and on both of them the thread inside the "centre band" has either come out completely or stripped the thread. Does anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong? Or is it likely to be the quality of the kit? Thanks in advance

    Spalted Beech Classic Elite Fountain Pen

    My First attempt at this sort of pen. Gradually expanding my horizons. I used a lovely blank of spalted beech and The Cassic Elite Fountain Pen Kit. I had to turn off 1/8" from the top blank. I fond I didn't have a parting tool small enough to do this job. A quick hunt around my carving tools...

    Pen mandrels and bushes

    Ok first post as a newbie so hope I don't go over old ground. If pen mandrels have an O/D to suit a standard 7mm tube, why are the bushes I've been purchasing (cigar / elite etc) have a much larger bore size? This only leads to the bushes running a mile off to the mandrel.
