    FIrst ever

As in the intro thread - a friend showed me how to make pens which has led to an order for kit going in and a new part to my hobby for the future... This is the first pen I did (Sapele) - seems to work as a pen! :)

    Forest scene.

Hi All, Here is a Sue Mey pattern. I decided to go with a natural edge on this occasion, maybe I will do the coat hanger in the future. A very nice and easy pattern to cut. I used Apple which I planed down to 6mm. Scroll saw. Sue Mey pattern. - YouTube Keep safe everyone All my best, Paul.

    Hello from Windsor

Hi, I've just started out on the journey of pen turning and no doubt will ask many questions (some probably daft!) in the near future. So far I've made a handful of pens in both wood and acrylic with quite pleasing results .... so far. Chris

Hybrid (Aussie Burl and red/gold pearlesent acrylic)

My first ever hybrid. I had quite a few blow outs and had to use a bit of touch up glue and saw dust. I do like the end result but I know I can get a better finish in future, also the transition still looks off a bit off. Feedback, as always is welcome. Simon

    stud/pipe/wire detectors

Can these detectors detect a nail in wood? the reason I ask is I am planning to get pallet wood in the future and don't want to ruin my planer thicknesser blades.
