Finally got a bit of time to turn a pen. I had two off-cuts of holy land olive wood. Finished using Phil's melamine technique.

    Spalted Oak Cigar

Somewhat of a unique blank. Half spalted sap and half heart wood. Timber is white oak, finish is a new CA called Glu-Boost. It sure shines up nicely.

    Hairy oak bolt

Always a test of caution cutting this log across, the medullary rays can conceal cracks,so far with this log so good over time. Peter.

    Brown Oak

I’ve not glued my fingers together with CA adhesive for far far too long or for that matter turned a pen so this evening I rectified both these things with some aluminium, black plastic, a piece of Brown Oak & copious amounts of CA glue.
