    A desk pen (Streamline based)

A desk pen based on a Streamline kit for Northumbrian Woodturners Association. I thought it was about time a woodturning club had a proper pen for members to sign in with rather than a plastic biro. Wood is some sort of salvaged mahogany substitute, texturing on pen and base was done with a...

    Pine Cone PR Sierra

Another fine blank from Mr Herrington. Pine cone in PR on a gold and ti Sierra. I left the tube and the inside of the blank unpainted to let the brass show through giving a sort of retro look because the colours reminded me of Christmas in the 1950s. C&C welcome on this unorthodox approach but...

    Burr elm hybrid Sierra

A long, long time ago I sent Brad some pieces of elm burr which he kindly cast into hybrid blanks for me. I have finally found time to start using some of them. This is the first on a chrome and black ti Sierra.

    Pine cone and field maple

Hey all. This Sunday, I took myself into the shed, put on some headphones and just enjoyed an hours peace focusing purely on this pen. Im never terribly happy with the photos, as I do not think it does the pen justice, but I hope you enjoy this little one. Blank made by myself.

    Steampunk Pen

My grandson asked me to produce a pen for him to use during his exams, “of course”, I said, “what sort do you want?”, to which he replied, steampunk please papa”. I’d never heard of steampunk before his request so I had to do a bit of research on the subject before designing and casting the pen...

    Jigsaw Pen

Partly for personal reasons, partly because I have been doing other things and partly because I have only been making run of the mill stock pens for my stall in the TIC at Morpeth I haven't posted here recently, although I have been lurking in the background watching what is going on. I have...

    And another!!

Well two in a week, wonders will never cease!! This one is for a very good friend, when he worked for Toyota he always had one of my pens( till someone liked it more!). He has changed to a brand new dealership and obviously wanted another pen. The blank was from Scott Walker....aka Sawes and yes...

    Nice find

I bought an old penturners stock a while ago and now all the blanks and kits have been used.....so I am onto the predrilled/tubed blanks that he prepared.... I have to say I quite like this one it has grey patches in it too, but you can't go wrong with red and black!!

    Now, here's a thing...

I didn't really think that this difference would be so dramatic. These two pens are made from exactly the same material, which is Conway Stewart Opal. On the same kit, obviously different platings. The first one has had the blank back painted white and the second black! Opal is a particularly...
