    Follow on from "Hmpff" thread

I have put this here as I have a few questions. Here are the photo's of the blank I managed to mess up. Some of the potential solutions have really peeked my interest, Aluminium powder, Milliput and the powders from Metallic Powder - Turners Retreat and I am hoping to try them out at the end...

    Made 12 black powder apostles

Made these 12 apostles on the quick for a friend to go with his flintlocks each one will hold the correct amount of black powder to reload

    Rotten Beech

Not Spalted but rotten. This blank came from a tree that had water ingress due to a lost limb. The largest cracks are filled with a black powder and Ca. 4 1/2" x 2" finished in Chestnut finishing oil.

    First casting completed!!!

Well despite a hectic weekend I did manage to cast my first blanks. I used translucent tinting pigment from easy composites, will try the powder colouring next attempt. Quite happy but will have to see how it turns later in the week.

    A few new DiamondCast pens

Some new colors I'm working on and I needed some inventory for a craft show I'm doing next month. Thankfully I had a stash of Sirocco kits around :) The black and blue is fun... Blue glow in the dark powder in that one. I am mildly partial to the metallic blue and purple though.
