    Wych Elm

    My last bit of Wych Elm that John Hodgson gave me when we visited him last. 4" x 2 1/2" infilled with Silver and finished with Chestnut finishing oil.

    Wood id - ash or wych elm?

    Evening all, Inherited some wood from a retiring turner and i'm not convinced of some of his wood id's.Attached re some shots of one log that he's called Wych Elm, but it looks like Ash -all be it darker than I've seen before. Any thoughts? Thanks. Chriscb

    Brushed up!

    Not me, I'm as scruffy as ever! :funny: A couple of Taylors Mirfield Ares in the new brushed finishes. Wych Elm and Turkey Oak sapwood finished in Melamine.

    Only small 5" x 1 1/2", finished in Danish oil.
