Thanks Alan, but I think the one on IAP library is for the fish scale effect not the I am after. The affect that Im after is the in the photo, like a spider web.

Joseph, the pens look like they are cut on a scroll saw or a bandsaw, filling the kerf with coloured veneers. If you have any experience with Celtic knots I imagine that you could make a fair effort duplicating the pattern.
