I went to look at this lathe today from a neighbour .. The lathe belonged to a guy who passed away 3 years ago and was big mates with my Father .. The wife happened to mention to his wife that i was looking for a lathe while visiting her after coming out of hospital .. She told her that she still had Bob's and that she is now looking to remove it along with his other machines and tools .. Funny thing is i used to sit with Bob in his large workshop many an hour, but when the wife mentioned this i couldn't even recall seeing it ..

So looks like it will be moving down the street one hundred yards ..

I took some pictures but they came out crap .. This was the best of a bunch .. :goesred:

That traction engine looks good Jim

Ray, he bought the kit for this Steam Engine about 18 months before he died, both he and my Father used to make them, there is a couple of blokes who comes round to his workshop a few hours a week working on it who was helping him with it when he was alive .. His wife is asking them to now take the project to one of the guys workshop to finish it so she can empty her workshop out, he does have his own lathe btw ..

Sad thing is my Mother sold the Engines my Father made ..

The V10 is a cracking quality lathe, my mate bought one and he knows I will have it when he gets rid of it, that will be never. Milling attachment as well, if you can get it, go for it.

Looks like a great aquisition. That workshop looks like an Alladins cave to me. I'd be in there for a week given half a chance:funny:

The part you see in the image Derek is only one corner of the workshop, i used to sit in his woodworking area at the other end of the shop .. Though today i noticed all of his wood working machines had gone but still plenty of wood, though mainly planks ..

That really is a quality lathe, no Chinese engineering there. I am over the moon for you, that really is a fantastic find.
