Just won 1 1/2 HP electric motor on ebay £5.65 all most new now I can start to build my polishing station
How many mops will I need?
Well got my polishing station built
In the pictures you can see 3 mops on the main drive on the end is a chuck can change from polishing to sanding,
on the back on the end of the motor shaft there is another chuck which will run a vacuum pump when built
not all my own work brother helped casting the pulleys and turning them

A fantastic piece of innovation, I applaud you sir .
Brilliantly done init?

All I would add if it were me, is the speed controller I have just cobbled together.
Left hand socket for DC motors and right side for AC motors not labelled yet but will be cos I know I will plug the wrong one in sometime.

Take a guess
Looks excellent Barry

As Brian points out speed control is very handy, I tend to to us my 8" course mops at around 1000-1200RPM where as my smaller dome mops can be double that.

It's a great job Barry but for me your two outside mops are very near the ends of the shaft & could impede polishing larger pieces.
I still think it's the bees knees.

Impressive , practical and complete mate allowing different compounds horses for courses. They look soft and promising Barry, lets know how you get on with it.

Excelent job Barry, great bit of engineering in it to boot as well.

Not sure if elf an safety would like it with no guards over belts tho..

Looks good and practical but I would forget which mop was for what.
