The one William just got is used to find the centre a long the length of a bar.
The one Pierre gave the link for is used to find the centre of the face of a bar .


That's what I meant.... you hollow from the end or at least I do but then I don't hollow metal so perhaps its different :goesred:

This is the new tool. It's the bottom one with a 6mm carbide insert.

The other two tools have 15mm and 9mm flat inserts.

No I've not used it yet, just copied the general shape of commercial tools. I used it when it was straight though and it cut well. I'll be making a replacement straight version in slightly thicker bar tomorrow.
