jet mini stand

Has anybody got the jet stand for the 1014 or 1015 mini lathe?

It looks easy enough to have fabricated, but I would be interested on some feedback on how good it is before I do so. I want something which avoids surfaces that shavings can collect on, and flat surfaces which i can fill with a whole manner of clutter.

Any flat surface attracts clutter in mine.

A stand like that would be easy and cheaper to make.

I made an A frame stand out of 4x2 for my 1st Lathe the Jet 1015 is on my very untidy bench.

i have a similar arrangement that i made for my first lathe. the jet mini and bed extension is longer than that original lathe, however, so it is on a scaffold board, which traps all of the shavings.

I have one Mark. I'm a "put it on the flat surface" kind of person, but there aren't ant suitable ones on this stand, so that aspect of it will suit you. It does collect shavings in the bed bars however, and on top of the motor between the bed bars - but that's just symptomatic of woodturning on a lathe is it not? The stand is more than adequate for the lathe though.

Edit: Thinking through what I just said, the shavings gather on the lathe of course - not especially on the on the stand.

Your choices of steel v metal fabrication time is faster, stronger IMHO.
