Anyone use one for taking pictures of your pens or other items? I'm thinking of getting one but not sure what size would be best. I suppose they fold up pretty small so storage isn't a problem?

I use one for my pens and never fold it up, it's about 50cmx50cmx50cm. It looks very similar to this one. I have no idea what size is best for you, but when I need to photograph anything that is too big for the tent then I use the dining table with background paper.

Make your own, I use an open box of conduit frame to hold a background, works for me.

I use 11inch by 14 inch photocopy paper as suggested by Mark and value my open frame to support an over the top light from time to time. Enclosed pic of the latest incarnation using my open box. This was during the setting up the previous lights were housed in the aluminium reflectors these present ones are the new leds sold in a pair by Bunnings for builders on a tripod, separated and mounted on the 4 drawer unit that holds cameras etc. Pics take but a few minutes from start to the computer as a rule with heaps of flexibility.

We use one of these and leave it out permanently on the top, I don't know how good it is as I'm no expert at photography, the little strip light does flicker a quite bit though, it's a pity they don't do a LED version:thinks:

Hi William,
I have one of those light tents and a couple of lights. I also have the gray cards that I got from a member on here for setting the camera They are no longer in use and you can have them for the price of postage. I don't know how the lights will travel but for the cost of postage it should be ok. Maybe better with a courier ??

take care

Thanks for your comments guys and thanks for the offer Don but I have a couple of flash guns and already have a grey card somewhere.

It's nice to see other folks setups so thanks for taking the time guys.
