New Bandsaw - Record Sabre 350

Well I took the plunge and invested in a bandsaw.
I went for the new Record Power Sabre 350 14" from Yandles and what a good choice it was.
The adjustment is easy and appears to be spot on. Power appears to ample for the 28cm max cut .

The only bad point is it comes in a single box that weighs in at 121KG! It only just fitted in my car as the box is also quite long. Luckily Yandles loaded it into the car with me.
If you do get one, open the box and take the bed out along with the stand and it becomes manageable with two people(only just though)

First impressions are that it is a real quality piece of kit.
I am now waiting on a Tuffsaws blade to rip some of the larger green trunks I have waiting. Although the standard one has gone through 20cm Oak like a hot knife in butter.
Now I need to build yet more shelves for all the pen blanks I have to store.

Nice bandsaw David I have the Record BS350 and it has served me well. I notice there are a few changes from the BS350 you have new bearing guides as opposed to the discs possibly from the startright range and your quick release is lower than the BS350. I have a couple of blades with mine both from Ian at Tuffsaws one for green wood and one for dry both 5/8" and both cut very straight I am going to order a smaller blade when I build my circle cutting jig. You will I am sure soon be building jigs for Celtic knot pens and tenon cutting and sleds etc. I find making things on the bandsaw a lot less stressful than my bench saws.

Nice looking Bandsaw. Glad Record have got rid of the disc bearings, folks have been asking for standard bearings for ages.
