I'm thinking about getting the Sorby Micro Sandmaster head-only kit.

I do mainly small projects - custom fly tying tools, drop spindles for spinng, etc.

Is this a worthwhile tool?

I want to turn my own handle, so I'm particularly interested in what the dimensions of the tenon are (width and diameter). If anybody owns or has access to one of these tools could I get measurements?

TIA

Will this do!

Has been used quite a bit but not much recently as not done much turning due to health issues..

But that will change soon I hope..

Hat said it is a useful tool but found that I needed to "feel" the sanding operation at times so kept popping back to by hand when it was accessible.

Silver!

Thanx for the prompt response.

What I was hoping for is the measurements for the part of the head unit that inserts into the handle. The "male" part?

BTW, is that a "micro" tool in the picture or the full size?

The end you want measured is bonded in place so there is no way I can get that measurement..

That said as per William said above, the sizes of them should be 5/16 (8mm)

But if you want to be certain then get in touch with your supplier.

The one in the pic is a full size one, I have a micro one in the workshop but wasn't attached at the time of taking the pic..
