Hi question to the assembled Woodturning Guru’s.

I have never noticed this little hole on the toolrest before...?

What on earth is it for?

Can anyone see the photo? Is in preview but does not seem to be there when posted??

I can't see the photo, but if it's a small hole in the top of the rest then it may be to take a vertical pin, often a nail or similar. Creates a fulcrum to stop kickback of a bowl gouge as it enters the rim of the bowl blank, when the tool edge is unsupported.
