Question Vacuum Chamber for Cactus Juice

I am looking at a vacuum chamber for degassing resin and stabalising wood with Cactus Juice.

I'm sure I have read somewhere that Cactus Juice is not compatible with a vac chamber with a perspex cover and I will need a chamber with a glass cover.

Any experience and advice on what kit to look for before I part with the hard earned?

    Thanks

Hey, I do a fair bit of stabilising and have a pot with perspex lid. I do not use cactus juice myself, but do not see why this would be an issue in the slightest. I would not use glass as a cover as the pressure will just crack it. My vacuum chamber has a 1" thick perspex and it is showing signs of cracking within the lid. My setup is for large scale, so my setup may be different to yours, but at the end of the day you are still going to be putting the pot and lid through the same amount of pressure. Its very hypnotic seeing all them bubbles and I have been caught with my 3 year old just staring into the pot! #NOTCRAZY

Can,t beat task enjoyment but pressure vessels are crucial to operate and demand great care.

    Hi all

I think this all started when someone somewhere who had a Perspex cover to their chamber shatter when under vacuum. Plate glass is so much safer and, as you mention, everyone likes to watch the bubbles. I think this came from a comment on Amazon when someone asked a question. I have a vacuum chamber and I would not use a plastic cover.

    Cheers
    Frederick
