Every now and then I make a piece which uses magnets, very often they are hidden ie sunk into the wood or behind a panel so I need some fairly powerful magnets and also a self adhesive magnetic surface. One the one occasion that I made a suspended piece I needed magnets that would repel properly. So I buy my magnets from here, even the hooks on my display tent.

Buy neodymium magnets: the strongest in the world - supermagnete

Just in case you have been searching .

I use magnets a bit for various projects, always Neodymium & am often amazed at how powerful they can be for such a small size. Just remember to get them round the right way when using 2 on a box to keep it closed, only made that mistake once but I was 100% sure I had both of them round the right way before I glued them in :rolling::rolling:

Yup done that twice now and the most infuriating part was the fact that I had remembered the first time!!!! Its a bit like measuring and tracing...…….. always do it 3 times. :vangry:

Now I use their sticky metal tape and only 1 magnet but you are right one magnet smaller than 1/2 the nail on my little finger can hold a drawer tight shut!!
