I know i have another thread going and you want pictures, this is not the pictures for that thread.

A neighbour cut down a dead Rowan tree a few weeks back and asked if i would like some of the small bits, so i frog marched him back to his house and made a collection
Anyhow here ARE pictures of it, the before and after. I can't take say my wood turning is good it's just the wood doing what it is, it is beautiful wood incredibly hard yet easy to machine (maybe that how i managed not to cock it up)
Anyhow Pictures. The bowl is smallat about 5 1/2 inches diameter and just over 2 inches high.

You have made a good job on the turning and finish the only thing for me is the outside shape I feel that a little more of an ogee shape would have looked better, which would still let you keep the height and also help to allow some of it to follow the inside shape.

I do have a few more bits of this wood, i will give it a go. I have had a look at bowls shaped like this and they do look good.

Rugged timber mate scary when split, two of thge best bowls so far ,more to come, very seldom will you see grain and colour as good as this.At the very mention of Rowan there will be a stapede.
