Even better, for people who live in range of Dorking. I found the person i was looking for, and i have said for people in the range of Dorking Surrey there is an excellent supplier of wood turning blanks. He has so much stuff it's mind boggling, and his prices are first class.
I bought 2 round blanks 8in dia 8 2in thick, 1 round blank aboy 10in dia 8 3in thick, 1 3in square about 6in long, 1 2in square 8 24in long and 1 2 1/2 square 8 10 long........ for £20.00.

Now i know some of you don't like buying blanks and to be honest i don't as like making a bowl from a part of a rough tree but in my case i have no dried and sealed blanks to play with. He also own a timber yard so has flat stuff as well for segmented bowl which i will be looking into.

He is a character and a very nice bloke, his name and number are Gilbert Kenward 07719296331
