As of yet this bowl has not got a name but I enjoyed every minute experimenting with the rim. I kept the main bowl and underside simple as I wanted the rim to speak for this one. Wood is unknown but I believe it is maple if you know different then please let me know(I don't get maple usually).

It measures 13 1/2" X 2 1/2" and the decoration was done using acrylic paints

From the design it became a definite bowl for a purpose, isolating the rim to a strong support role.Probably the most outstanding profile I have seen for some time shown as it should in the horizontal. The decoration is innovative, creative, really separate yet contained within. Definitely a bowl to remember.

The triangles are meant to represent shards of glass and the light reflecting off of two edges I could have done it so that it appeared as though the light was from one direction but decided to make it so each piece had the light coming from different directions.

Good looking bowl Derek, particularly the glass shard effect, the wood looks like some sycamore I had from yandles a good while back

I to like the shape of the bowl, the rim design is lost on me as i do not have an artistic bone in my body, thats not to say o do not like it though.

Really like what you have done with this from the shape to the glass effect and the colouring.
