    A strand of Silver!

The shine in the picture is how it looks in the hand and not a camera or lighting thing.
Silver Birch fruit bowl. This was a 15" blank but had so many shakes it ended up at 10 1/2" x 4"

I can't decide whether to be a good example, or a horrible warning!

I’ve never touched birch Neil mate but that’s got a nice grain to it, tidy shape too.

That is lovely Neil. I would never have guessed that it was silver birch. It just goes to show the wonder of wood, you never quite know what will be revealed.

I have worked with Spalted Silver Birch,it spalts readily.

Like your bowl Neil. Years ago my neighbor used to tap his birch trees for the sap. Love the inside grain.

    Lovely bowls, nice grain too

I picked up some Silver Birch a month back - looking forward to turning it when it's dried.
