Hi,

I have been trying to finish this bowl for weeks, but due to family illnesses etc have not been able to. However, today as I had a few hours spare I did.

Nice bowl Frederick. Glad that you were able to get some workshop time. I tried today and the first thing was found a natural split so opened the top of the form and got rid of it only to go and have a small catch.

Hello Derek

I said that I thought that the wood is Sapele but I now think it could be Meranti. Not sure.
Sorry that you had a catch. It reassures me a little knowing that even the professionals have some (albeit small ones). It's the skew I have to master, and I will in time. Hopefully next year I will be able to find more time playing.

Cheers
Frederick.
