Sorry not been around much lately - haven’t turned for a while as have injured nerves in foot - however managed to get back on the lathe for an hour and turned this...

No colouring - no embellishments - just the beauty of the grain! Approx 7” turned from cherry that was felled in the village last year.

Wow, that's a beautiful bowl. :drool::drool:
My eyes played tricks on me to start on the first photo, an optical illusion, it looked like a sphere on a platter.

Nothing simple about this most beautiful of bowls I have seen in a long time. Wilma said when I showed her the first pic it was hard to get separation then we went to the other pics (thankyou). All was revealed and I marvel at your skills.

Esceptional choices in design, maximum from this timber, fantastic result.

Sympathy for nerve probs mate I have two feet in this circumstance, battling through,I keep stools and chairs handy as I work outside. We are in our frost cycle now trust your better weather works in your favour.Cancer out of the left ear on Friday.

To reach my age is wonderful to me trust you can cope.

Peter.

Wow! Thank you for your very kind and lovely comments Peter!

After not turning for a while - this was one of those moments where everything seemed to come together (I was just glad I hadn’t forgotten how to turn! Lol)

Been turning for 4 years now and the journey has been so enjoyable - partly the hobby and partly other woodturners and the woodturning community.

Hope all goes well on Friday!

Cheers

Steve

Very nice indeed Steve some lovely grain in that and well turned. Hope recovery is swift and that you can get more time like this on the lathe.

I must admit that I keep looking at the wood and it does not look like any Cherry I have seen it looks more like some apple I turned a while ago.

Just out of interest when replying to all the posts instead of clicking the "Reply with quote button every time. press the one next to it "+ do that with all those that you want to reply to then press the Reply to thread and you will find they all will be in a single post and you just move the curser below each one and reply

Thanks Derek! Definitely cherry as I was present when it was felled in the village last year.

On my mobile app it doesn’t have the options you are listing? I only have quote/thanks/like/gift?

Cheers

Steve

Cheers Frederick! I may try something different with the other half.... if I can transfer the idea from the brain cell to the lathe?
