Firstly a huge thanks to everyone on this forum! You welcomed me last year and have been generous in advice and comments - enabling me to grow in my turning journey.
From what kits, to finishes, ideas, humour, tools and genuine interest in "newbies" learning etc..
You may not realise, but even a simple "like" is encouraging!
At the end of February - after being encouraged (nagged) by family, friends and colleagues - I bowed to pressure and setup a website to share my "journey" - with a small shop section to try and fund some of the costs of this addictive hobby!
My first order was on 1st March and since then everyone who has purchased a pen has been very complimentary - showing others what they have purchased and sharing my details on Facebook etc....
Everyone has given me feedback that they feel the pricing range is realistic and that they have been more than happy with their purchase - feeling that they have had good value for money.
I decided from the start that the site was "my journey" as opposed to a shop. With that in mind.. all the pens displayed were on a "made to order" basis... which has so far worked well (it is a hobby after all!)
I am now trying an experiment and have spent the last few evenings turning pens - that are now immediately available (as opposed to made to order) - I haven't got loads there... just thought I would see if there is a different uptake or interest.
I thought I would share this and my experience with everyone - trying to give a little back to this great forum.
I will let you know how it goes (you may or may not be interested lol).
Thanks again for all your support and genuine encouragement - in this cynical world we live in - it's great to find a bunch of individuals like you.
