Years back I bought out a Chinese girls stock of nail material ,it is in a drawer so I was very interested following your process and yes it warranted success. With some major for us mountains to cross today and for this week light at the end of the tunnel.

Paul even if it sounds repetitive thanks for your video and I love your enterprise.

Peter.

That turned out very well Paul, I do a lot of waterslides, I don't cast them, I apply them to wood blanks, seal them with water based varnish (3 coats) then 5 coats of m. ca, finish off with micro-mesh and polish. Good video, as always.

Thanks for that Paul. Very nice video and a good result. I will need to get my skates on to see what I can come up with. :thumbs:
I have seen Mod Podge mentioned quite often and I was in a store with with various tubes of 'Mod Podge'. I did purchase a blue label 'paper Mod Podge' Waterbase sealer, glue & finish. Use as a Sealer apply thin coat and let dry for 20 mins. between coats. So I don't know if it's any use for this, I will give it a go.:thinks:

Hi John,
That is what I have seen before and it looks great.
The reason I wanted to stick the decals directly to the tube was to see if the resin lifts them.
I want to take a blank and cut away a small area so the tree decal for example has an area to show through, I'm hoping that it will give some depth to the piece.

Hi Don,
I didn't realise that there were so many different kinds. Mine was a Red label. Next time I might try without the Modge podge. What a strange name that is. :thumbs:

All the best,
Paul

REcently Don I made a special pen rest and pen for Skiprat using the outline shape of Wales in Brown Mallee Burl. I sprayed the timber with a special laquer from the US. The outline I cut with a bandsaw 1/2 inch blade accenting it by using dozens of cutting back cutting to create a rugged effect all round. When I sprayed I never touched the sides only the top, finished all the sides with Modge Podge.Wilma has used this product for so many purposes over so many yeas successfully. With Pauls indulgence I will look for a small pic of the effect Modge Podge has on raw timber.Indistinguishable with the top spray.

Fantastic looking gift Peter.

It turned out well Paul.:thumbs::thumbs:

Cheers Mark,
I'm very happy the way it turned out. I look forward to doing some projects in the future with the nail art.

@ Paul, I looked up Mod Podge last night and the majority verdict seems to be that it is white PVA adhesive slightly watered down. If you want a gloss finish water it down with water based varnish.
