Beaufort Winds

Beaufort kits.
Finally dawned on me why the pen kits were named after "winds".
Senior moment, (my excuse anyway)

Mind you the "Sirocco" wind is late this year. due mid June.
Wonder if there will be any trial kits available soon?

Posted a couple of Tempest kits to their Gallery, not showing as yet, maybe not good enough to get past Phil.

I got your photo for the gallery - thanks very much. I tend to update the gallery in batches. There's quite a bit of page re-organiation to do to make it happen, so I tend to wait until I have a few to upload at a time. It'll feature there soon I promise.

The Sirocco is due to ship from the factory this coming Monday (19th), so with any luck they'll be available in about a week to 10 days time.

There are two more kits currently in development too. The Levante and the Zephyr. Watch this space (although I might change the Levante name yet - what does everyone think?)

I must be having a youngster moment then, drawing a blank on why they're named after winds although I have a suspicion it's timing related... unless Phil's known to eat too many sprouts

As for the names...

Zephyr - sounds epic enough.

Levante makes me think of something my wife would order at a bar if they can't knock up a Cosmo. Might just be the way my inner voice is pronouncing it. A quick search threw up the more specific 'Levanter' which is the Levante through the Straits of Gibraltar. Too close to the phrrr sound between the two then though maybe.

Greg, Beaufort, as in the scale/force of wind.

Wind is the flow of gases on a large scale. Could be Phil.

What type of pen are the new ones?
Could use "Karver", light wind up your way in the Hebrides.

I find that artichokes are more effective than sprouts on the Beaufort Scale

The Sirocco price is £6.95
Pre-orders? Haven't sorted any out , but I may do if I get time. Buy 5, get free bushes and a 6th kit free - how does that sound?
The Levante (or whatever it ends up being named) is a fountain pen and rollerball, and the Zephyr is a single tube ballpoint
Karver? It's a thought, but ironically everyone north of Gretna would think we've started selling cheap bubbly.
