I posted a pic of a tube that I use to insert the twist mechanism into any cross refill style pens. The circumference of the twist mechanism is quite sharp and was starting to cut into the nylon (or wood in may case) cap on the end of the piston (tube was open ended) on the pen assembly press so I superglued a piece of channel extrusion on to the end. The length of the extrusion is such that the pen, when laid into the tube is held perfectly in line with the centre axis of the pen press. The pen is loaded twist mechanism first so that the nib is poking out of the top before it is squeezed to the correct dimension.

Anyway here's a pic of the amendment which works an absoulte treat.
