I have just completed a Filigree Pen. I am wondering if I am doing something wrong in that I had to push the mechanism in well past the mark. Is that correct or should I reduce the long tube.

Just read the instructions and it does state that you need to push the twist mechanism in by 1/4" past the mark so it sounds about right.

One tip try to make the lower half meet in the centre as near as the top half at the centre band, takes away the top heavy appearance.
