Hey guys, I've been dabbling in video editing lately and thought you would like to see my latest YouTube video.

It's a video of how I cast my wood and resin hybrid pen blanks, this one is a "worthless wood" oak and red resin pen blank.

Please leave a comment about what you think (and if you really like it like and subscribe to my channel!)

Here is a link and I'll post a picture of the pen in a minute :)

Really good enjoyed watching the video but turned the volume off after a few minutes.
I would rather have you talking and explaining about what your doing and why than the music.

Maybe its just me but I watch the videos to learn how to do things and its nice to have the person in the video explaining the whys and what fors.

GREAT video and very well put together I am NOT criticising believe me, not something I could do :goesred:

Hi

Great video and for someone like me that knows nothing about casting I found it really interesting...

I did not mind the music and the key points in text.

At least it was not 10mins of rubbish talking at the beginning listing this weeks life disasters and swapping stickers ..

I always skip forward through all that stuff... and I like music while I work..or play

PS I have subscribed...

Thanks for the feedback back guys, it takes a while to edit a video together but I'm getting a lot quicker and better at it, I don't talk in the videos because I really stutter badly when I'm trying to talk and the one video that I did where I did talk (the one making the silicone pen blank mold) it took me 20 goes to spit out one sentence.

I did force myself to talk over it but I didn't find it much fun and can't watch that video back with the sound on lol, hopefully the text helped with what I was doing in the video.

But I think I will try and put a talky bit on the end of my next video,

James I loved the video the music enabled me to relax and concentrate on what you were doing. This was well shown ,the way you improvised making your own disposable mold impressed me no end. Keeping everything minimal and worth while using straightforward steps was a pleasure to see. Its colder than I can handle over here but your video convinced me to break out next week and knock over a few pens I have in mind.

Together with Paul and his approach to making Videos,no rubbish just sharing is a wonderful gift to us on this forum. The finished pen is delightful, your design and mine differ viva la difference.

Thanks for sharing mate.

Peter.

Good video James, and I liked the music!

I'm toying with the idea of doing some casting myself and deliberating on whether to part with some money for a new pressure pot!

You made it look very easy - thanks.

Great video and lovely pen. I'm just doing a bit of dabbling on the video front, can I ask which editing software you are using? Thanks for sharing your skills with us all.:thumbs:

Enjoyed your video and the music was good too. I have often thought about setting up to do casting but got diverted into other forms of woodwork but your video was an insight to what could be done with wood you would normally put into the fire so thank you.
