Don’t use a permanent marker pen to mark the blank again!
The ink must have penetrated the blank at least 2-3mm

It’s never happened to me before as I usualy use a pencil lol

They were called Crimson Mesh Eamonn, but I can’t remeber exactly where I got them from as I bought the blanks a couple of years ago from various places, Axminster & Oke Crafts ring a bell.

I've never had that issue either Paul and I always use a marker, will be more careful in future. :thinks:

Must have some very potent markers where you live.

That looks like the mark is on the tube. The blank on the right you see the white line of the pattern, you would think that would turn black, but it seems the black mark is under the white line.

Well Spotted Paul I see what you mean, I won’t bore you with all the details of why, but thinking back I did mark the inside of the drilled hole as well as the outside, so like you suggested it will be the mark on the inside of the blank rather than the outside or maybe both ;-)

It was the first pen I’ve turned for a few months & It was a long tiring day for one reason or another, I think my mind was on other things, todays not looking a great deal better either lol

Cheer up Paul.
Look on the bright side, it's not raining, it's still warm and you have found an answer to what went wrong.
Things can only get better. :praying:

Yep look on the bright side, it’s not raining, it’s actually glorious sunshine here, as gardeners we should be out catching up on work, but instead we’re both in the house frozen to the core, up to our eyeballs with cold trying to plod on with PenBlanksAnd Moulds work :funny::funny::funny:

You just shouldn't be so successful in your "hobby".:thumbs:
