    Has anyone tried turning pens from Paulowina wood?

    I know the tree but only in an ornamental setting, where it is coppiced as it is such a fast grower.
    That being the case I don't imagine that the grain would be very interesting and the wood would be quite soft.

    @KevinMc if you read the comments in the link from Mark (flexi) someone talks about turning it some of the other comments may help whether you want to give it a try

    I have met it in a previous life and it’s the lack of weight and it would appear in looks to be heavy that got me wondering what it would be like to turn ...
