there I am, happily sawing away at a big lump of ebony, to make some blanks, when BANG and my band saw stops doing its thing. Nutz i thought, blades busted....nope.....they tyre had split and peeled off the upper wheel.

So now i'm stood waiting for axminster (who it has to be said are great for their after sales care) send me a relacement. Which procedure sounds like fun..:thinks:

ah well just one of those things, but I've also got some hazel, rowan, douglas fir and blackthorn to turn into blanks, all from our "piece of gods country" in mid wales.....(3 1/3rd acres of regenerating PAWS which I coppice just outside Builth wells)
all air dried for 2+years So i'll be glad when that new tyre comes

Kinda speaks volume for my luck...I even get a flat tyre on my bandsaw...

I know how you felt my B/S tyres perished, I replaced mine with urethane tyres, it was fun putting them on.:duh:

:thinks:I had a B/S motor fail, that was band enough.

Now I'm hoping the tyres don't fail.

By the way, you don't "turn" wood into blanks on a B/S, that's normally done on a lathe....:face:
