Yes well I don't know if it can be fixed but here is todays offering

A nice pen and a lovely looking blank this was to be a gift for my brother-in-law but I think it's going in the bin

You can take it apart using transfer punches. The plastic thread inserts will probably need replacing but just contact Dan, tell him what happened and he'll probably send you new ones.

As Neil suggested James, disassemble it and replace the plastic. It would have been a beauty (it still can be.)

Just one question how would you hold the barrel without damaging the acrylic and will the acrylic and tube resume there original shape ?

I am sorry to ask and I am sure I am not the only person ..... to the untrained eye I cant see anything wrong with it.
Please can you explain where the fault is ?

The pen is not cracked it's just flared at the section connecting thread.

Personally I hold the barrel in my hand and give the transfer punch a good whack (or 3) on the bench it normally works; (keep the punch in the barrel with your little finger and remove it as you impact) however some kits are a good fit then its buy another kit and start again.

The time has come as the Walrus said to think this through, personally I could live with the flare as it is an attractive pen with a small departure from the normal.

Peter.
