I still class myself as a novice pen turner all though I have turned quite a few now and sold most of them. In the beginning, I bought all sorts of kits mainly by price cheap and cheerful.
I have now narrowed it down I have a small list of pen kits I buy and the same goes for blanks.
I just wondered how you guys do it do you have preferential suppliers of kits and blanks or do you just take pot luck.

Hi Dave,
Yes pretty much the same as you..... I only make what I know will sell kit wise, I do get tempted still but only buy the odd ones to try out and look for improvements.....
Blanks I only buy from companies or people I know and trust and its a good list! I did a charity auction for blind veterans and think I gave away blanks from the 4 best in the world..... Kenneth Wines, Toni Street, Marla Christians on and of course (anyone that knows me) Mik Lawrence!!:ciggrin:

A big thank you from me for a very successful auction Mark & for your generosity. Those same thanks to Neil Lawton & Dan Smith for their generosity in Neil’s auctions for BVUK.
