I tried the other kit I had of a shock absorber pen, whilst turning it near the finish my hand twitched.

The good news is that I found a 3rd kit to go at.
I will give it a try once I get better at making the pens using callipers.

Just mount the tube back on the lathe and turn off the knackered wood.... 3rd time lucky hopefully you'll be in for a shock:thumbs::thumbs:

Like I said in your other post Gary. Practice your techniques with cheap timber. Just learn turning, you don’t need to make anything in particular.
