This is the wood that Neil sent me, it turned very easy and had a very strong aromatic scent, i knew when turning that i know the smell but i couldn't put a name to it and at one point i was thinking Raspberry .... :nooidea:

Placed on a chrome plated slimline pen kit and coated with a CA finish ...

Where did my comments go?
I was sure I posted on this.
Damn I can't remember what I said now but I am sure it was a nice comment.
As I always do, I love that colour and grain pattern, A well chosen piece of wood to make a masterpiece young Jim.

Jim,

Lots of people close on the guess work, you included aromatic red cedar is a variant on this. ARC is technically Juniperus Virginaia, the US variant on Juniperus Communis, which this is, a juniper tree! Jim, You've got a cracking finish on that pen, did you use EEE then CA?

Along with it being a beautiful wood the aroma is very strong, and sure clears the nasals ... Neil, i used a small amount of BLO on the wood and left it a few hours before adding the CA finish ...
