This is a Gun Metal Bolt action with a home grown Pine Cone blank and a CA finish.

I like how the refill comes out further, much easier to write with, the blank is beautiful with lovely features that entirely complement the Gun Metal Kit.

I think the refill is too far out, I thought I had sanded the tubes too far, but measuring them they are the right size I may have to take them apart to take a bit off the mechanism.

An excellent pen which is only to be expected from you Peter !!!

Thank you Terry, you flatterer. I made one of these for a friend who had had a rollerball with the same blank and he wanted a matching bolt action, the tube on that one was slightly longer and the refill doesn't stick out enough, it needs to be taken apart and the blank sanding down.

That's a really good match of blank and kit peter, beautifully made too  I also prefer the refill to protrude a little further.

Lovely pen Peter

I have a massive stash of pinecones & other stuff, but I'm having trouble finding the time for casting:sob:

I like that Peter, blank looks spot on.

I know what you mean about the nib, Grandson has done one today and thought he had trimmed it a little too much but after measuring against a new tube it was spot on..

But as Les said maybe there is a batch with shorter tubes than should be. (BTW mine was a TB "Millylime" kit)
