Dug into my stash, an old time special timber from Tasmania from a towering tree. Rare to find it only grows mm,s a year in the rain forest.

You didn't count the growth rings did you? ? Very nice pen, I like the grooved detailing and the wood is very interesting.

Hi Peter what a nice pen and turning, Is the wood a hard wood or soft:thinks:

Possibly Tasmanias best known softwood, by definition Balsa wood is a hardwood I have some Huan dense and heavy, some lighter, but never seen it hardened by plastic.I have a good ton of plain Huon bought many years ago.
