Made this pen today as a present for a friend's 60th birthday. Mistral fountain pen in rhodium with gold accent ring, rosewood, CA finish, brass powder inlay cap finial. As my friend has an interest in ancient Greece the laser engraved logo is ancient Greek for the number 60. Excuse the photos I didn't take too much care over them as it's not a pen I'm selling.

Novel twist there in the number, your friend should enjoy his 60th yr pen its a ripper. Thinking of your remark about pics a guy in the states says I did not repair your brakes but fitted a louder horn.:funny:

Now I see what the brass powder was for. What process did you use for cutting the Initial?

That is a great gift.
Well not specifically, no it just happened that way and I needed it done now (last minute thing) I've still got other methods suggested to try out before I'm satisfied. The initial was cut with a Neje laser with a few passes to make sure it was deep enough. Thanks for the compliment

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. The pen is on its way to Germany on Sunday, so fingers crossed it goes down well.

Well my friend was absolutely thrilled with the Mistral. Being a teacher he's filling it with red ink as he uses more red ink than black or blue ?
