Not sure what the wood is but it has a quite open grain with some spalting. Red dye added to the stabilising solution, Melamine finish.

To dye for Graham. Does adding to the stabilizer commit that batch forever to add red? If so it is a big commitment so worth doing.

I make up a small amount in a small jar and stand the blank in it. Then it goes into a small bath for vacuuming - which does get re-used for other similar colours.
