Turned in bloodwood which really isn't as red as I was hoping but still looks lovely!

It certainly not as red as bloodwood can be, are you sure it's bloodwood.

Consistant colouring is unusual in timber. Certainty becomes difficult. I like your two pens for what they are love the box.

Oh I'm with you 1000% Peter I'm more than happy with how they turned out and I know where they are going they will be adored. it just wasn't what I was expecting im going to try redheart next time I think

They look nice mate, I know bloodwood can change and understand the younger it is the lighter it is. Someone will tell me different if it's not right tho..

Have you ever tried Purple Heart ? Nice wood that darkens with UV.

Glad you like the box as well..
