I made a Sirocco ballpoint in cross-cut Zebrano last year, and the guy who bought it asked if I could make a matching pencil. Thanks to Phil, I was able to respond in the positive!
Finished with melamine, I was quite pleased with the result.

For me I find this is a mongrel timber because like you I love it cross cut and that grain is so hard to tame, but love the result you achieved from using it it.There is a richness in the kit that boosts the pen, wonderful clip pushes the pen into excellence.
