X cut Zebrano Tempest

last week I posted a question about x cut zebrano and Peter asked to see some of my efforts.
Well here we have a gold tempest in x cut zebrano.

Really great looking pen Andy. The X cut is spectacular.
Did you have any problems when drilling? I remember having heavy cracks in a similar occasion...

I use a freshly ground drill, point thinned, slowish speed and not to fast an infeed. Clearing swarf regularly and keeping drill cool with a damp cloth.
Once drilled I apply a very thin viscous super glue down bore to hopefully fill up any gaps or cracks.
