Managed to get a bit of time in the shed this afternoon. A birch burr & unknown dark wood streamline. Am very pleased with how this came out!

Hi Bill, I used CA on this one, eight coats flatted with 1200 & 3000 then polished with Tcut.

Thanks Pat. Terrific finish - eight coats explains the depth. I have to hold up my hand here and admit that I haven't succeeded with CA as a finish. I have tried several times and the last time I ended up with a bush stuck in the end and wrote the blank off getting it out. Seeing you guys getting such great results with the wooden pens you have made has made me rethink - I mostly use acrylics - but not sure I fancy CA again; may try Melamine as it has got good press on here.
