Hi guys,

Here is one of the pens I have made recently, I have to apologise for the pictures my phone camera is cracked and is currently covered by a bit of cellotape until I can upgrade lol.

This has been sanded to 1000 grit, chestnut Sanding sealer used to bring out the grain and then finished with a chestnut woodwax. 20180711_210827.jpg

That looks fine Stuart, resting in it’s own little sarcophagus. To be honest, finishing with just wax alone isn’t long lasting because after a time it will wear off. I personally use Melamine lacquer with a top coat of Carnauba wax as recommended by Mr. Phil Dart, it truly is a better method IMHO (and others):thumbs:

Thanks John, this is something that I will look at for the future. Like I said I'm here for the tips and tricks of the pro pen turners :love_it:

Like it Stuart - a nice looking pen. As others have said Slimlines are always in demand! I have yet to try Phil's suggested application of Melamine lacquer myself but many posts on this forum advocate it. The guidance, in case you don't know, is the top post in the Pen Turning forum. Let's see more of your work!
