A women came to me, telling me she loved a sherry tree that used to give shadow to her patio, but it died a few years ago. The wood was dry, she asked me to make a ballpoint pen with it. She added: "Make it as simple as possible, no clip, please show the wood".
I was pretty interested, because if I may like kits components, I prefer them being few and not showing off too much.

I used 7mm tubes, transmission and refill, and a blank I sawed in the graft area. The pen has been wet sanded, polished and oiled, then given two weeks for the oil to dry.

C&c are very welcome.

I absolutely love the simplicity of the pen, it's outstandingly good. Often the simpler an item is the more difficult it is to make too.
Btw I wouldn't mind a Sherry tree or maybe a Gin & Tonic tree [emoji23]

That is one beautiful pen, it might look simple but is a work of great skill. Well done Pierre.:thumbs::thumbs:

Anything but simple Pierre. A lovely looking pen, and you have to be a pen maker to know just how "un-simple" your pen really is.

The contract was a dream one,Pierre you gave her the dream pen she wanted. I found it beautifully executed and now presented for us to share.

Peter.

"Simple" isn't the word I would choose - maybe "elegantly unadorned?" Beautiful proportions, and a perfect example of the artist letting the material speak for itself. Very fine bit of work, Pierre.
