This Amboyna blank didn't look that promising at all before I started turning it, but as I started to polish it it really started to sparkle

Really happy with the adjustments I've made to my mandrel, I've turned 3 pens on it today & am over the moon with how it performed.

Again finished with friction polish & Hutt wax the name of this kit escapes me at the minute but definitely came from TB.

Thanks for the comments, well most of them :thinks::funny:

I'd had the kit years it was left over from when I turned a few pens for school kids that had to have rollerball pens, I seem to remember Woody having the same reaction a few years ago :ave_it: I don't mind the kit though I think it looks better with the blank turned thin & not too bulbous.

Jim it's good to be back turning, I'm trying to work my way through the kits I've collected over the years before I order any more.

Terry, Eamonn :ave_it: my problems didn't start till I swapped my damned mandrel shaft :vangry::vangry:
