A well turned pen Peter I like the two coves by the nib end but the other two are just a bit to close to the centre band and are too much of a distraction for me

Colourful wood there Peter. Is it the slow growth that makes your timbers so hard?

Tough environment makes for strong timber the rest is genetics like us some redheads some blonds bear in mind this is a huge country mate with deserts, a population mostly located around the coast a tough climate of extremes. Conkerberry grows over 150 yrs only reaches 4 to 5 metres is a true bush covered in spines preyed on by termites etc its survival out there. The Huon Pine tree lives to 3 thousand years in rain forest conditions in Tasmania it is slow growing only mm,s a year. Australia geographically is ancient we do not have great depths of soil like for example in America. So little is known abour Australia I have tried to show and tell some things bearing in mind the diversity in the UK is expressed freely. We all come from apes but some sprung further than others:chuckle: Read the weather foecasts up in Tennant Creek for example where Mark lives, distances etc we here accept distance travel differently.
